Misha Namirovsky: a standing ovation Monday, October 13, Salle Cortot Paris

« He played Beethoven’s sonata n°6 exactly as it should be: the best way I ever heard », said famous French pianist and musicologist Eric Heidsieck attending the performance. « His Debussy was full of colours and clarity, and the Rachmaninoff’s Etudes-Tableaux showed extreme virtuosity and controlled passion ».

The second part of the recital, Brahms’s Capriccio op. 78 and Schumann’s Symphonic Studies confirmed the most impressive and extensive musical capacities of the artist. We rarely discover artists of such a magnitude as Mr Namirovsky, little known yet in France, but unquestionably one of the best we heard in years.

A well deserved standing ovation concluded the recital –the French public doesn’t go often to those lengths.

Last but not least, the simplicity and the sensitiveness of Mr Namirovsky were again a remarkable asset for the community sharing recitals for elderly and sick persons he offered Tuesday and Wednesday. He performed for more one hundred persons and he had an incredible success. Then he flew back to Shangaï to resume his duties as Piano Professor at the Soochow University.
